WE HAVE FOUND
PEPE'S REAL GF!
This is not a LARP. This is not a lie. This is not another Cabal bullshit.
We have really unearthed Pepe's previously unknown girlfriend! A real Matt Furie creation with a real name!
Our journey started when we discovered a 10 year old animated short. It's a test episode for what should've been a Boy's Club cartoon series. This short, entitled "First Date," was produced by Matt Furie and Joseph Bennett.
Cool, right?
But what struck us the most is not the sight of Andy being eaten alive by his dragon hybrid one night stand. No. Rather, it's the sight of Pepe sharing the couch with a female character.
And it is very apparent that they're more than friends!
Notice her legs draped over his lap? Her arms slithering around his head? His hands caressing her legs?
This is clearly Pepe's intended girlfriend in the Furieverse!
But... what is her name?

The answer to that question can be found in one of Matt Furie's Instagram post the same year (2015) "First Date" was released.
In this post, Matt shared a very short clip of an interview with Kara Walker. The clip says that she was an artist and a curator at the Frieze in New York. We did our research and found out that Matt Furie held three exhibits at the Frieze in 2015, so that was when she might've befriended Kara Walker.
But their relationship is merely secondary to the explosive revelation the clip unveiled. Kara Walker, seemingly referring to "First Date," identified Pepe's Girlfriend as... VIOLET!
Here is the interview clip for those who can't access Matt Furie's Instagram.
There is no doubt at all that Kara Walker was referring to the female character in the "First Date" short film!
Violet is real!
And we have finally found her!

VIOLET IS REAL
$VIOLET is an Ethereum-based token paying homage to one of the most quietly charming corners of Pepe lore — Violet, Pepe the Frog’s girlfriend as revealed in First Date, the 2015 animated short by Matt Furie and Joseph Bennett. In the short, Violet is a soft-spoken, violet-skinned girl whose genuine connection with Pepe offered a glimpse of heartfelt warmth within the often chaotic world of Boy’s Club.
$VIOLET celebrates that spirit of authenticity and affection, standing apart from the typical meme coin fare. It draws inspiration not from ironic internet humor, but from the sweet, unguarded moments between two oddball characters who simply found each other.
Launched with zero taxes, burned liquidity, and a renounced contract, $VIOLET is a fully decentralized love letter to the First Date short and the broader ethos of Matt Furie’s creations: embracing the weird, the tender, and the sincere.
In a sea of noisy projects, $VIOLET is for those who remember that even in meme culture, real connections — like Pepe and Violet’s — are what matter most. Feels good, man.
